Edwards Excavations Ltd were established in 1990 providing subcontract excavation services to some of the larger housebuilding companies across the north of England, including Southdale Homes, Bramall, Wates, Termrim and Lovell Construction.
In 1994 Edwards Excavations were chosen by Alfred McAlpine to carry out the groundworks for the prestigious Kirklees Stadium project in Huddersfield, under sponsorship named initially the McAlpine Stadium and later the Galpharm Stadium.
Other well known projects include the set for "Emmerdale(Farm)" in 1997 on behalf of Totties Construction for ITV, dozens of Brewers Fare sites across the region and the groundworks for the Kirklees Waste Incinerator at Cooper Bridge in Huddersfield in 2001.
